ISLAMABAD – After an appeal made by Prime Minister Imran Khan to the nationfor donations of funds to curb water crisis, residents and overseasPakistanis have responded overwhelmingly to the national cause raising theamount to nearly Rs2 billion.

The assumptions started making rounds over the internet after PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed reportedly told PM Khan that aPakistani-American Shahid Khan was willing to donate 1 billion USD.

However, there was no confirmation from billionaire businessman andphilanthropist who is also the owner of Fulham Football Club.

Meanwhile, Senator Faisal Javed rejected the rumors saying that he did notmake any statement like this.

Earlier, PM Khan urged Pakistanis in Europe and the US to contribute $1000at least, adding that no one will give us loans but we have to constructthis dam.

The prime minister said it was important for Pakistan to build dams asfailure to do so would be detrimental to future destinations.
