*LONDON – British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan is all set to face Colombia’sSamuel Vargas today (Saturday) as he continues his quest to earn a tilt atwinning the welterweight world title.*
The 31-year-old will be back in action after outperforming Phil Lo Greco inApril this year in Liverpool. The fight lasted only 39 seconds.
The fight against Lo Greco was Khan’s first fight in nearly two years sincehis injury.
The 31-year-old will meet Vargas in Birmingham hoping a convincing displaywill get him a world title fight before the end of the year.
The former unified light-welterweight world champion said, “I’ve trained inLA for 10 weeks; it was a tough schedule and did a lot of running, swimmingand boxing. Inshallah, I will be ready.”
He added, “The fight against Vargas will be tough but I’ve prayers andsupport from everyone. I know I’ve trained very hard for this fight sonothing can go wrong and I really believe that I will win in style.”
