ECP responds back to the allegations levelled by JUI (F) Chief Fazal ur Rehman

ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday hasresponded over the allegations levelled by JUI F Chief Fazal ur Rehman.

ECP rejected the statement of Jamiat Ulmae Islam-F (JUI-F) related to thealleged rigging in general election 2018.

According to the details, the ECP spokesman expressed regret on FazlurRehman’s demand for ECP’s resignation. He termed that Fazlur Rehman’s allaccusations are false..

Rejecting the accusation of the JUI-F chief, the ECP maintained that theGeneral Elections 2018 were fair, transparent and impartial. “Accusationswithout any evidence is deplorable and contrary to the facts. Notrespecting the mandate of public without any justification is against therules of democracy,” asserted then ECP spokesperson.

The ECP official mentioned that If anyone has reservations over theelections, he should file petition as per procedure. He also said that thetradition of pressurizing national institutions should be ended. “ECP is anindependent institution and will not tolerate any sort of pressure,” thespokesperson explained.

Earlier on Thursday, speaking to journalists in Peshawar Press Club, Rehmanmaintained that the present government is enforced and announced to run acampaign to awaken the people.
