LAHORE – All deputy commissioners and other senior officers in Punjab get asnub from the Chief Secretary Akbar Durrani on Wednesday.
Chief Secretary has directed deputy commissioners to refrain from makingpublic their objections against any political interference in their work.
He has directed to report such things to commissioners, and develop goodrelations with legislators.
“He asked the field officers not to put any such thing on social media orshare it with media. Instead follow official chain of command, reportingany problems only to their seniors (commissioners),” the chief secretarytold the deputy commissioners, said an official after the meeting.
All administrative secretaries were present in the meeting held in theCivil Secretariat in an emergency to address the issue of “revolt” of thefield officers against alleged political interventions mainly by thelegislators of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf. All divisionalcommissioners and deputy commissioners attended it through video link.
