ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court (IHC) has disposed off Nawaz Sharifpetition filed by lawyer Khawaja Haris.

IHC directed Accountability Court to make objections raised by KhawajaHaris part of the proceedings’ record.

Kh Haris—Sharif’s lawyer—during hearing argued one part of Wajid Zia’sstatement was slashed from the record whereas an additional sentence wasadded on behalf of Wajid Zia, star prosecution witness. Haris added, “Ifhearing continues to proceed in such manner, what would happen in thecomings stages”.

To this, Justice Athar MinAllah remarked that they were present there andwould make trial transparent.

Kh Harif argued notification of his objection wasn’t enough, stating courtwas bound to announce verdict on the objection on the occasion. To this,Justice Mohsin replied the authority to announce verdict on any objectionrests with the court. Haris said the procedure was court’s practice but nota law.
