ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to promote paper-lessculture in offices and e-governance in the country.He was chairing a meeting on Information Technology and Telecommunicationin Islamabad on Thursday.The Prime Minister tasked Dr. Ishrat Hussain to formulate a comprehensiveroad map with delineated timelines to ensure transformation towardspaper-less culture in all ministries and departments of the federalgovernment.The Prime Minister was briefed about the existing outlook of IT and telecomsector in the country and its contribution in the national economy.The Prime Minister expressed serious concern over negligible progress insome important ministries towards employing e-solutions for conductingofficial business. He said PM Office would take the lead towards e-officeto be followed by all the ministries. He also directed devising a mechanismto streamline and facilitate IT experts in payments for their expertise.It was also decided that a committee will be constituted in consultationwith the Minister for Finance and the Minister for IT.The briefing was attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Minister for ITand Telecom Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Law Minister Dr. Farogh Naseem,Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider, Advisor to PM Dr. IshratHussain and senior officers of concern minister.
