DUBAI – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released latest One DayInternational (ODI) rankings and some of the Pakistani players finallyfound some takeaways from the disastrous Asia Cup outing.
As per the latest updates, young left-arm opener Imam-ul-Haq, seasonedall-rounder Shoaib Malik and the fast-bowler Junaid Khan have improvedtheir ODI rankings.
Imam got the lion’s share of gains for his three half-centuries in AsiaCup. He jumped 15 places to reach a career-best 27th position. Malik, whoalso scored as many half-centuries, gained 12 slots to reach the 42ndposition. Playing only the last game in Asia Cup, Junaid picked 4 wicketsfor 19 runs; the performance has helped him gaining seven slots to sit onthe 30th position among bowlers.
There were some losses as well with Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman going downthe order for their dismal display of batting. While Azam lost his previoussecond spot and slipped down to 6th, Zaman gave away three slots and nowsits at the 19th position.
