NAB seeks for arrest warrants of Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his legal counsel KhawajaHaris were failed to appear before the court on Monday without notifyingaccountability court, hearing of Flagship reference against the Shariffamily.

As the hearing underway, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)prosecutor said that neither an exemption petition was submitted by theaccused, hence non-bailable arrest warrants should be issued for Nawaz onhis no-show today.

In the reply, the assistant lawyer of Nawaz’s counsel informed theaccountability court that Khawaj Haris could not appear as he was unwell.While on the absence of Nawaz Sharif, accountability court judge remarked“it does not happen this way that the accused appears before the court whenhe wishes.”

Resented with the situation, Judge Arshad Malik granted two intervals tothe assistant of defense counsel to find the whereabouts of former premier.
