Pakistan Foreign Minister hold important meeting with his EU counterpart

NEW YORK – Pakistan and European Union have agreed to continue to worktogether for strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade andinvestment, development, migration and peace and security.

The agreement reached during a meeting of Foreign Minister Shah MahmoodQureshi and European Union’s High Representative on Foreign Affairs andSecurity Policy, Federica Mogherini on the sidelines of the UN GeneralAssembly session in New York.

During the meeting, they also highlighted the positive impact of EuropeanUnion’s “GSP Plus” status on trade between Pakistan and the European Union.

The foreign minister also briefed the High Representative on the regionalsituation and reiterated that an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace processis the only viable option for a lasting peace in Afghanistan.
