ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday clarified thediscussion held on news channel on change in formula of women special seatsin Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.-
In a clarification, it said under 24th constitutional amendment, the seatsfor general election and bye-election were distributed on the basis ofdelimitation.
It said the commission has the right to move for legal action and asked toavoid any such discussion without facts and figure.
It said it was totally wrong that the ECP has increased the women specialseats in Punjab from 32 to 33 while decreased 10 to nine women specialseats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It said as per formula, out of total 60 women special seats, fout seatshave been allocated for Balochistan, nine for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 33 forPunjab and 14 for Sindh.
