MOSCOW – In a setback to Israel, Russia has decided to supply a modernair defense missile system to Syria within a fortnight.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said in Moscow today that S-300surface to air missile system will significantly increase the Syrian army’scombat capabilities.

Russia has taken the decision a week after it blamed Israel for indirectlycausing the downing of a Russian military plane killing 15 Russian servicemembers in Syria.
