SRINAGAR – Indian troops and police personnel used brute force againstpeaceful protesters in Shopian district, today.
Locals told media that a joint team of Indian army, police and paramilitarypersonnel besieged the area and started door-to-door searches early in themorning.
People took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against theoperation.
The police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse theprotesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’personnel.
