QUETTA – Pakistan government has opened the border at Chaman betweenPakistan and Afghanistan.

The border which was closed over security measures on Ashura has beenopened for trade and movement of people on Saturday.

The border crossing in Balochistan was closed by the government for twodays in order to maintain security on Muharram 9 and 10 whenprocessions are taken out across the country to pay homage to martyrs ofKarbala.

Youm-i-Ashur, observed throughout the country on Friday with due solemnityand reverence, culminated peacefully as no incident of violence wasreported.

Cities across the country echoed with nohas, marsiayas and the throbbingsounds of self-flagellation in various majalis and processions, while Ulemaand Zakireen shed light on the bright and candid teachings of Hazrat ImamHussain (RA) and his great companions.
