ISLAMABAD – Pakistan economy gets yet another blow despite the measurestaken by the PTI government.
Pakistan’s current account deficit widened by 10 percent during the firsttwo months of this fiscal year (FY19) compared to corresponding period oflast fiscal year (FY18).
According to statistics of Balance of Payment (BoP) issued by State Bank ofPakistan (SBP) on Wednesday, the current account deficit witnessed furtherwidening to $2.7 billion during first two months of current fiscal year ascompared with the deficit of $2.477 billion in the corresponding period ofthe last fiscal year.
The current account deficit during the month of August has on a positivenote, fallen down to $600 million, compared to a deficit of $2.17 billionin the month before, i.e. July 2018.
