ISLAMABAD – In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have placed the Chairmanof Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest in Srinagar.

A spokesman for the forum in a statement said that Mirwaiz was scheduled todeliver a sermon on the occasion of Ashura and pay tributes to Hazrat ImamHussain (RA) and other martyrs of Karbala at Alam Sahib in Narwara area ofSrinagar.

Meanwhile, Indian forces have imposed curfew-like restrictions in Srinagarand other town of occupied territory to prevent people from taking outAshura processions.

Three bodies of Indian policemen were found in Shopian district, on Friday.
