Top international cricket legend charged by ICC over anti corruption code

DUBAI – Top international cricket legend has been charged by ICC over anticorruption charhes.

Former Sri Lanka opening batsman Sanath Jayasuriya has been charged withtwo counts of breaching the International Cricket Council (ICC)Anti-Corruption Code.

Jayasuriya has been given 14 days from October 15, 2018 to respond.

Jayasuriya — who is also a former Sri Lanka Cricket Chair of Selectors —has been charged under offences pertaining article 2.4.6 and article 2.4.7.

Article 2.4.6 stipulates failure or refusal, without compellingjustification, to cooperate with any investigation carried out by the ACU,including failure to provide accurately and completely any informationand/or documentation requested by the ACU as part of such investigation.
