Federal government appoints new Chairman PIA

ISLAMABAD – Federal government has appointed the new Chairman of thePakistan International Airlines.

Air Marshal Arshad Malik has been appointed as the chairman of PakistanInternational Airlines, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting,Fawad Chaudhry announced on Thursday.

The announcement has come after a cabinet meeting with Prime Minister ImranKhan in the chair.

“PIA is in a debt of Rs 406 billion,” said the Information Minister whiletalking to the media. He added that the national airline faces a debt worthof Rs. 2 billion every month.

“The new chairman of the national carrier has been directed to immediatelyfix the institution’s economic condition,” he stated.

Notably, Air Marshal Arshad Malik was appointed as the Vice Chief of AirStaff in March 2018.
