NAB opens 9 inquiries against top politicians

ISLAMABAD – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has opened inquiriesagainst top politicians over charges of corruption and misuse ofauthorities.

As per the media report NAB has given approval of nine inquiries againstprominent politicians including Khawaja Saad Rafique, Manzoor Watto andManzoor Wasan.

According to details the decision was made in anti-graft watchdog executiveboard meeting chaired by justice retired Javed Iqbal and approved inquiriesin various corruption complaints.

NAB declaration said that the board meeting has been given the approval toprobe former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, railways officers,former chief minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri, former federal ministerManzoor Watto, Manzoor Wasan, Nawab Ali Wasan and Muhamad IftikharGillani.NAB meeting has also approved the 22 inquiries into investigationincluding Khawaja Saad Rafique, his brother Salman Rafique, Nadeem Zia,Qaisar Butt in Paragon City Housing Scheme scandal.

The investigations against former finance minister Ishaq Dar, Anusha Rehmanand former chairman PTA have also been approved.

NAB has also given the green signal for the filing of reference of fivecases in accountability court. According to the declaration, the corruptionreference against former MD PSO Naeem Mir and former officials of PFO havebeen approved as they were accused of causing the loss of Rs 23 billion tothe national exchequer.
