Shahbaz Sharif being interrogated in NAB custody

LAHORE – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started interrogatingShehbaz Sharif in custody. Sources said that investigations into 56companies and his assets had also been launched.

They revealed that Shehbaz Sharif was disappointed at his arrest and hecontinues to stare at walls for most of time. “He remains silent. He hasbeen kept in a traditional cell, which has iron bars at the gate,” thesources said.

They said that Shehbaz Sharif has been provided a bed for backache.

“During the investigations, the NAB team asked Shehbaz Sharif what was theobjective behind making public sector companies. Why were the companiesformed in the presence of existing departments,” they revealed.

To the NAB questions, Shehbaz Sharif said that the purpose of companies tointroduce good governance in the model province. “The purpose of the PunjabLand Development Company was to provide cheap houses to the poor. Being thehead of the province, it was my responsibility to protect the public money.I ordered legal action when I came to know about irregularities in theproject,” he said.
