Benazir Bhutto murder case: New developments made in SC

ISLAMABAD – New developments have been made in the Benazir Bhutro murdercase in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

As per the media report, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) hassubmitted its report in Benazir Bhutto murder case in the Supreme Court onFriday.

The FIA has taken the stance in the report submitted in Supreme Court thatthe agency has filed two petitions in the Benazir Bhutto murder case whichalso included appeal against acquittal of accused involved in the murder offormer prime minister.

The FIA report also stated that these appeals are pending in the LahoreHigh Court Rawalpindi bench. The report also said that the FIA has notfiled any appeal regarding convicted police officers.

The report further said that the FIA had also filed appeals for RafaqatHussain and Aitzaz Shah arrest. The report said that the FIA has alsowritten letter to Punjab Home Department and Interior Ministry for theirarrest.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday has rejected PakistanPeople’s Party’s (PPP) petition to suspend bails granted to two policeofficers accused in the Benazir murder case involving ex-President PervaizMusharraf as principal accused.
