ISLAMABAD – Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has enforced theShariah Governance Regulations 2018 in line with the spirit of the article38 (f) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
A notification issued to this effect says the jurisdiction of theseregulations is the Shariah-compliant corporate sector, Islamic capitalmarkets, Shariah-compliant securities and Islamic financial institutions.
Our Islamabad correspondent reports that enforcement of a comprehensiveframework for Shariah-compliant business is a major breakthrough to lay thefoundation for a true Islamic financial and economic system in the country.
