*PESHAWAR – *Speaker National Assembly Assad Qaisar on Sunday said thegovernment had no plans to introduce changes in the curriculum ofseminaries nor any sort of policy in this connection was underconsideration.
Addressing a congregation at Dar-ul-Quran Panjpir here, he explicitlyrejected the impression to change the curriculum of seminaries, saying, anysuch information was nothing but were rumours.
According to Qaiser, seminaries were bastion of Islam and harbinger ofpeace, adding it was unfortunate that their significance was being ignoredby previous governments.
He said that steps would be taken to facilitate students of religiousseminaries and making them useful part of society, further adding thatseminaries were among the priorities of the government and Ulema would betaken onboard to develop these institutions.
The NA speaker said certain elements were propagating disinformation amongmasses only to achieve their political objectives. He said that the HolyQuran and its translation would be taught in all the public sector schoolsof Punjab besides adding Khatm-e-Nabuwat (the finality of the Prophethood)in their curricula.
He also reiterated to use his position for the betterment of humanity owingto confidence of people on him. – APP
