ISLAMABAD – Prominent anchor person Dr Shahid Masood to be arrested asthe specialcourt of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday rejected anapplication for pre-arrest bail.
The pre arrest bail was filed by Dr Shahid Masood, former chairman ofPakistan Television, in a case regarding his alleged involvement inembezzlement of Rs38 million.
According to the prosecution, Dr Masood had signed an agreement with a fakecompany to negotiate with the Pakistan Cricket Board for grant of rights tothe PTV for coverage of matches played in Pakistan. Because of theagreement, the PTV had to face heavy losses.

The Islamabad District Court had in June issued non-bailable warrants forDr Masood’s arrest following a request of the FIA. He had subsequentlyappeared before the court and obtained an interim bail.
