ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Tuesday, issuing aclarification on the recently aired news about Justice Umar Ata Bandial‘removal’ from a special bench constituted to hear National AccountabilityBureau’s (NAB) appeals against the Avenfield verdict.
SC has clarified that Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel replaced JusticeBandial as latter was too ill to be a part of the bench.
“It is clarified that the news item is totally baseless, concocted andfalse. The factual position is that the Justice Umar Ata Bandial was notfeeling well hence, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), who is heading thebench, reconstituted the bench,” said a statement issued by the top court.
