Sharif family may land back in Adiala Jail yet again

ISLAMABAD – Sharif family may land back in Adiala Jail yet again as theSupreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has taken up NAB plea against the release ofNawaz, Maryam and Captain (R) Safdar.

SC on Tuesday constituted three-member special bench to hear petition ofNational Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking reinstatement of prison termof Sharifs in Avenfield reference.

As per details garnered, the three-member bench will be headed by ChiefJustice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar and will assume hearing onWednesday.

In its plea challenging suspension of jail term of Pakistan Muslim LeagueNawaz’s (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and political heirMaryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar, NAB states, “IHC had failedto appreciate that through its order, it had seriously prejudiced the caseof the prosecution by holding that the trial court judgement suffered fromobvious and glaring defects and infirmities and that the convictions andsentences handed down to the accused might not be sustained ultimately”.
