LAHORE – An Accountability Court on Monday has announced verdict on the NABplea against Punjab University former Vice Chancellor.
AC sent Punjab University former vice-chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran and fiveformer registrars to jail on 14-day judicial remand in illegal appointmentscase.
Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials produced MujahidKamran, Dr Auranzeb, Kamran Abid, Dr Liaqat Ali, Dr Ras Saud and Amin Atharbefore Accountability Court Judge Syed Najamul Hassan on expiry of theirphysical remand.
The NAB prosecutor submitted that investigations had been completed andphysical remand was not required any longer. He pleaded with the court tosend the accused to jail on judicial remand.
However, the defence lawyer opposed the judicial remand plea saying thatall allegations levelled against the accused were baseless. He requestedthe court to discharge the accused.
