*ISLAMABAD – Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt. GenNaveed Mukhtar paid farewell call on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PrimeMinister Office on Monday.*
The Prime Minister appreciated the meritorious services of Lt. Gen NaveedMukhtar for the country during his military career especially as DG ISI, PMOffice said in a statement.
PM Khan also expressed his best wishes for his post retirement life. Lt.Gen Naveed Mukhtar thanked the Prime Minister for his expression and bestwishes.
It is pertinent to mention here that Lieutenant General Asim Munir has beenappointed the new Director General of Pakistan’s premier intelligenceagency, Inter-Services Intelligence.
PM Khan was due to appoint the new head of the ISI after the incumbentchief of the country’s spy agency, Lt-General Naveed Mukhtar, was retiringon Oct 25.
Traditionally, the coveted slot of DG ISI, considered the most powerfulafter the army chief’s post, goes to a three-star general with aconsiderable experience of the field.
