DUBAI – The International Cricket Council has responded over the one of thebiggest match fixing scandal of cricket history.
ICC has decided to investigate latest allegations of spot fixing againsttop cricketers.
The statement by the sports body came after Al Jazeera said that topplayers from Pakistan, England and Australia had allegedly carried out spotfixing in 15 matches.
“The ICC is committed to working to uphold integrity in cricket. As youwould expect we will again take the contents of the programme and anyallegations it may make seriously and will investigate fully.
However, I must refute the assertion that cricket does not take the issueof corruption seriously, we have more resources than ever before working torid our sport of corruption,” it said.
The investigation has already commenced, according to the ICC.
