HR Ministry 100 days report revealed

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen M Mazari on Tuesdayreleased performance report of the first 100 days of her ministry.

The report consists of an overview of the ministry, its key functions,legislative milestones in 100 days, international milestones, and theNational Action Plan, a press release said.

It also gives a detailed account of structure of the ministry, inputs itreceives from different sources, the legislation it recommends, and theresearch it undertakes.

According to the report, the Human Rights Ministry drafted nine bills,including Zainab Alert Bill, Corporal Punishment Bill, Domestic WorkersBill, Disability Bill, Christian Marriage and Divorce Bill, The Punjab SikhAnand Karaj Marriage Bill, Enforced Disappearances Bill, Legal Aid andAccess to Justice Bill, 2018, and Anti-Torture Bill.

Besides awareness campaigns and redressal of human rights complaints, threeresearches, including research on inheritance, street children andharmonization of laws, and three policies, including Women EmpowermentPolicy and Policy on Child Abuse, were also formulated within 100 days.
