ISLAMABAD – Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday has warned thatPakistan is under a hybrid war.
He stated that Pakistan was facing religious and ethnic versions of ‘hybridwar’, a term often used for fifth generation warfare.
He was addressing participants of National Security Workshop.
COAS said that Pakistan had been subjected to various threats especiallyduring the last two decades. He said that Pakistani nation and its armedforces have bravely and successfully stood up to these challenges and is ona positive trajectory to defeat it effectively.
COAS said that we are now confronting hybrid conflict where focus isshifting to subversion on religious, sectarian, ethnic and social issues.
This needs a comprehensive national response. He emphasised that we nowhave a greater responsibility to ensure that our people, especially youthstay aware and steadfast against propaganda onslaught being launchedthrough soft offensive. It’s our time to rise and progress and we mustgrasp the opportunity achieved after countless sacrifice.
