China India kick off joint training programme of Afghan diplomats

BEIJING – China and India have kicked off second phase of the historictraining of the Afghan diplomats.

The second phase of training programme of 10 Afghan diplomats in Beijingbegan on Monday as part of the joint project by India and China. In the 1stphase the Afghan diplomats were trained at the Foreign Service Institute inDelhi from 15th to 26th October.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chief of Mission of Indian embassy in BejingDr Acquino Vimal said,” India is firmly committed in Afghanistan’s effortsto emerge as a united, peaceful, secure, stable, inclusive and economicallyvibrant nation. India and Afghanistan are close neighbours as well asstrategic and development partners.”

He added that all the efforts of India as the development partner ofAfghanistan has been based on the “priorities set by Government and thepeople of Afghanistan and this has been our fundamental basis for anydevelopment partnership.”
