ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly condemned the farcical Indian chargesheet against Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi.
Foreign Office spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal in a tweet said thecontinuing Indian attempts to label the legitimate Kashmiri struggle forself-determination as terrorism have failed miserably.
He said Indian incarceration of Kashmiri leaders on baseless chargesviolates the human rights charter and makes a mockery of Indian claims ofbeing a democracy.
Asiya Andrabi is incarcerated while Syed Geelani was allowed out of housearrest after 8 years.
Dr. Mohammad Faisal said India needs to accept the reality of its failureto try to label every Kashmiri, from women to old men and children, as amilitant or terrorist.
Foreign Office spokesperson called upon the international community toexpedite establishment of Commission of Inquiry as recommended in OHCHR andAPPKG reports.
