LAHORE – Supreme Court has termed authority to seek Chief Minister’sprerogative of permission for launching cases against corruption in Punjabas unconstitutional.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian SaqibNisar heard the case.
While announcing the verdict on the plea of Director General in Punjab’santi-corruption unit Hussain Asghar, the apex court suspended CM‘sauthority to approve inquiry into graft cases.
The court has also directed to conclude anti-corruption cases that areunder hearing at Lahore High Court (LHC) in two weeks.
