ISLAMABAD – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken importantdecision over the new local bodies elections in Pakistan.
ECP on Wednesday has decided to start fresh delimitations across thecountry for local body elections.
According to the commission, the polls cannot be held on old delimitationsafter latest population census.
Balochistan will be considered at priority for the process while KhyberPakhtunkhwa (KP) will be dealt in second round. However, in third step,delimitations in Punjab and Sindh will be started.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)government wants to introduce such a local bodies system which can resolveproblems of masses at the grass-roots level.
