KARACHI – The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) halted the fuel supply to PIA overnon payment of dues.
However PSO subsequently resumed supply of fuel to the PakistanInternational Airlines (PIA) after a brief halt over non-payment of theoutstanding dues.
The fuel supply resumed following successful talks between the PSO and theairline, according to a PIA spokesperson.
Subsequently, the PIA resumed its flight operation as a number of flightsdeparted from Karachi as per their schedule.
Earlier, the PSO suspended fuel supply to the national flag carrier overits failure to ensure payment of the dues, which affected the airline’sflight operation, causing difficulties to passengers.
The PIA is required to make payment of Rs340 million to the PSO daily asthe former owed a total debt of about Rs17 billion to the latter.
