ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court issued notices to respondents in a plea challenging the appointment of Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis for allegedly being a dual national.
A three-judge SC bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar heard the petition.
During course of proceedings, the CJP asked how could a common person while being a dual national become a minister while parliamentarians could not hold dual nationalities.
The court issued notices to the respondents and adjourned the case till November 16 (Friday).
