NEW YORK – Pakistan has taken historic step for the Muslim brothers inPalestine.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhihanded over the country’s enhanced contribution for Palestinian refugees tothe representative of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNWRA), the agencyworking to provide relief to Palestinians.
Speaking on the occasion at the Pakistan Mission to the UN, ambassadorLodhi said this was done on the instructions of the government of Pakistan,and in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people.
“The people of Pakistan have always stood with their Palestinian brothersand sisters”, she added.
The ambassador stressed that this assistance will help UNRWA continue itsrelief efforts on the ground and keep the schools and clinics open that itruns in Palestinian refugee camps.
