*KARACHI – The World Bank has proposed a huge aid fund for Karachi megaproject.*
*A $400 million aid to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board for developingwater and sewerage services in Karachi has been proposed.*
* However, the Sindh government has approved in standard and determined togo move forward with the arrangement.*
This arrangement initiated from a meeting on Thursday, when World Bank teamdirected by senior water resources management specialist Andreas Rohdecalled on Saeed Ghani, Local Government Minister in his office.
The meeting includes other members of the team such as Farhanullah Sami,senior water and sanitation specialist, associate investment officer SarahAfridi and Basharat Saeed, water resources specialist. Minister Saeed Ghaniwas assisted by local government secretary Khalid Haider, managing directorof water board Khalid Shaikh, & Ayub Shaikh DMD planning of water boardalong with other officials.
