*ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airline (PIA) took a new initiative toincrease the revenue of the National Air Carrier.*

*PIA has abolished the authority of seat up-gradation from its pilots.*

According to details, Director of Flight Operations Captain Uzair issued anotification stipulating that the authority of all PIA captains to upgradetickets of passengers has been revoked.

The notification cautioned that in case of non-compliance, “the cost ofup-gradation will be deducted from the salary equal to the difference offare whereas, the First Officer shall be issues with a warning letter.”

Few days ago, the very powers had also been withdrawn from the chiefcommercial officer and other related personnel.

The national carrier incurred million of rupees loss in revenue per monthowing to the practice of ticket up-gradation by the flight crew.

The directives were issued on the orders of President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer of the PIA.
