NEW DELHI: Early State Election results show India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party trailing in three key States where they were in power.
The main opposition Congress is leading in all three states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
According to Indian Media the results in these three states are likely to have an impact on the Elections due early next year.
It says for the ruling BJP, it is the Final Test of its Policies before it goes to the voters for another term at the centre.
A good performance for the Congress will boost its standing in a possible opposition front to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Election results are also being declared for the Southern State of Telangana and the Northeastern State of Mizoram.
Regional Parties – the Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the Mizo National front are leading in these States.
