TEHRAN – A car bomb has exploded near police headquarters in Iran’ssoutheastern port city of Chabahar, killing 4 and leaving many injured,Iranian media reports.

The blast was likely a suicide attack, a source told ISNA news agency, andwas planning to attack the police station. But after he was stopped bypolice, he blew himself up.

The number of those killed in the explosion has reached 4, while manyothers were reported injured, acting Governor of Sistan and BaluchestanProvince told Tasnim. Local media say women and children are among thoseinjured.

Shooting was also reportedly heard near the site of the explosion. Securityforces are currently at the scene of the explosion.
