ISLAMABAD – US President Donald Trump, in his letter addressed to PrimeMinister Imran Khan, has sought Pakistan’s support and facilitation for anegotiated settlement of the Afghan war.
According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal, PresidentDonald Trump has also acknowledged that the war has cost both the UnitedStates and Pakistan.
He has emphasized that Pakistan and US should explore opportunities to worktogether and renew partnership.
The Spokesperson said that since Pakistan has always advocated a politicalsettlement to end war in Afghanistan, US decision is welcomed.
He said Pakistan reiterates its commitment to play a facilitation role ingood faith as peace and stability in Afghanistan remains a sharedresponsibility.
