ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says Pakistan decided toopen the Kartarpur Corridor in view of longstanding desires of Sikhcommunity.

In a tweet, he said we have taken this historic initiative in good faithand will carry it forward in the same spirit.

The Minister said dragging his comment towards Sikh sentiments is adeliberate attempt to misrepresent and mislead.

He said what I said was strictly with reference to bilateral interactionwith the Indian Government.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said we have deep respect for Sikh sentiments and noamount of distortions or controversies would change it.
