NEW DELHI – A bomb blast has been reported in a train in India, media hasreported.
Atleast 16 people were injured in an explosion that took in an intercitytrain in Assam’s Udalguri on Saturday, PTI reported. The explosion occurredin a coach of the Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity Express at the Harisingarailway station around 7.04 pm, a Northeast Frontier Railway spokespersonsaid.
The new agency earlier reported that three persons were injured, one ofthem critically, and rushed to a hospital. Railway and police officialshave rushed to the site — around 95 km from Guwahati.
Investigations are on and it was yet to be ascertained whether theexplosion was caused by a grenade or an improvised explosive device (IED),PTI reported.
