ISLAMABAD – Federal government has booked TLP chief Khadim HussainRizviunder treason and terrorism charges.
“The government has decided to take legal action against leaders of theTehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan. Therefore, Khadim Hussain Rizvi, the leader ofthe TLP, has been charged under terrorism and treason charges at the CivilLines Police station in Lahore,” Information Minister Fawad Chaurdhy toldreporters in Lahore.
Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan party that led countrywide protests last monthagainst the Supreme Court’s acquittal of Asia Bibi, a Christian womanfacing blasphemy charges.
The days-long protests paralysed routine life in major cities of thecountry.
