KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday has arrestedsenior police officer over Rs 70 crore corruption allegations.
As per media report, NAB arrested Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) RaiIjaz Ahmad over corruption charges.

Ijaz, who is former Lahore chief traffic officer (CTO), is facing chargesof misappropriation of Rs700 million in the police funds while he wasposted in Punjab, NAB said in its statement.
“More arrests to follow after Rai Ijaz’s detention in the scam”, said NAB’sspokesperson. However, the anti-graft watch, has also arrested suspendeddistrict accounts officier of Gujrat, director budget food departmentLahore and others accused in the scam.
NAB Lahore, had earlier issued Ijaz’s arrest warrants; however, he hadescaped when anti-graft officials had raided his house to make the arrest.
His father is also nominated in the same case whereas ten other policeofficials allegedly involved are already in NAB custody.
