PM Imran Khan welcomes 900 million investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says foreign investors will beprovided all out facilities to do business in Pakistan, transfer technologyand create job opportunities.

Addressing inaugural ceremony of Chinese automobile JW Forlandmanufacturing plant this afternoon (Friday) in Islamabad, he said foreigninvestment not only creates jobs in the country but also brings thevaluable foreign exchange.

The Prime Minister said the country needs dollars to pay external debts andto manage its balance of payments.

He said rupee depreciation and increase in dollar value should not bepanicking for anyone as the positive economic policies will ease burden onpeople.

He said the government has focused on encouraging investment, increasingexports, incentivizing overseas Pakistanis for sending remittances, andchecking money laundering.

The Prime Minister congratulated Afridi brothers on their joint venturewith the Chinese automobile company.

He said the investment is of 900 million dollars. It will be carmanufacturing unit in Pakistan for the first time.

Earlier, there were assembly plants. Initially, they will employ 5,000Pakistanis in their plant which will eventually increase to 45,000.

Imran Khan said these kinds of projects also bring transfer of technologywhich has added advantages.

Earlier, addressing the ceremony Chinese ambassador Yao Jing said Chinawill always be a partner of Pakistan.

He said the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China proved verysuccessful.
