NEW DELHI – A picture of Congress leader and Punjab minister Navjot SinghSidhu surfaced on Thursday standing with Gopal Singh Chawla. ThePakistan-based pro-Khalistan leader posted the picture on Facebook with acaption saying, “with sedu pa g” (With my brother).
Chawla’s presence at the event had already raised hackles in New Delhi.
He is the general secretary of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara ParbandhakCommittee and had earlier prevented Indian diplomats from visiting agurdwara in Lahore.
The incriminating picture prompted the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to ask thePunjab cabinet minister whether “India was his priority or not”. UnionMinister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal took a jibe atCongress and Sidhu, saying the minister seems to be getting more love andrespect from Pakistan than India.

Badal has been fiercely competing with Sidhu to take credit for opening upthe Kartarpur corridor. She was one of the two ministers to represent Indiaat the event, was in the audience when Prime Minister Imran Khan praisedSidhu.
