NEW DELHI – Frustrated over rising insurgency and defeat in OccupiedKashmir, Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat has hinted at drone strikeon Kashmiris.
He has said that the Indian army is capable of using strike drones in heldJammu and Kashmir if the country will accept the consequences of suchactions.
The Indian army sees no problem in using the strike drones on the potentialtargets if the people accept their “mistakes” and “collateral damage”. Thearmy chief was responding to a question if India will follow the footstepsof the United States in using the strike drones to terminate the hostiletargets, reported Indian media on Thursday.
General Bipin Rawat said that there is no problem provided there is nobacklash from the people and the international community. “When you talkabout the strike drones, how does the Israeli strike the Hezbollah, how didthey do it?
They have sources on the ground, who pinpoint a vehicle, who say thatthere’s a leader in the vehicle who has come out of the house, and somebodygave the information and they electronically marked the vehicle, and thevehicle gets marked. Now a drone takes off in the air and hits thatvehicle,” General Rawat said.
“Now this kind of a thing is possible in that area, in that country. In ourcountry, you have seen the kind of repercussions when you…you know…thekind of flak that you face when you take action against a stone thrower.”
