PIA plans to induct four new aircrafts into its fleet

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has planned to inductfour new aircraft into its fleet, said President & CEO PIA, Air MarshalArshad Malik on Wednesday. Addressing to PIA employees at the airline”shead office, he said that PIA had already started on the fleet enhancementplan and would expand its network and increase its access the world over.

He said his objective was to make PIA as one of the leading airlines withcollective wisdom and efforts and hoped for better results as the airlinehad great potential to rise.

“We will strictly go according to route rationalization policy and newviable routes will be introduced,” he said and added that national flagcarrier had already restarted Sialkot-Sharjah and Lahore-Muscat routes andthe results were very encouraging. Furthermore, he said that PIA was goingto launch flights on Sialkot-Barcelona and Lahore-Bangkok sectors. The CEOPIA said that the management was well aware of the problems being faced bythe employees, especially the low salary structure of employees of lowercadre and assured to revise their salaries as soon as the airline came outof the financial constraints.

He instructed the employees to work for the betterment of the airlinewithout compromising on service standards. He said that he would personallyvisit each and every department to discuss the issues with employees andvowed to maintain merit in every sphere of airline.
